On 26-27 May a TAIEX workshop on "The role of prosecution in the fight against corruption including criminal policy" by the initiative of General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss the role of prosecution in the definition of criminal policy, struggle against corruption risks and formation of new effective means for human's protection, get acquainted with the EU practice in this field and to see the practice of those countries where prosecution implements criminal policy. In particular:

-how to increase the effectiveness of the judicial system,
-how to combat corruption and other illicit activity by authorities and the role of  prosecution,
-how to define a criminal policy,
-how provide for remedies for parties in order to receive compensation for damage,
-how to adjust the conditions of initiating and instituting proceedings of the prosecutor.

Participants of the workshop are Prosecutors, representatives from Police and other law-enforcement bodies, Ministry of Justice, State Ombudsman office, other governmental institutions, Judiciary and Bar association.
